InactiveIt didn’t come with a scooper? Thats really strange! Wonder why the Neocate Jr wouldn’t come with some type of measuring device??? Has anyone else here used Neocate Jr?

InactiveWe are trialing Neocate Jr with Kendra and we use a gram scale to measure it. It is more accurate (I got one at target for $30). You will use more powder if you use the house measuremnet suggestions. Neoacte Jr is VERY GREASY. I warm the amount of water for 16 seconds in the microwave and it mixes better when it’s warm. We can use it wether you have guts problems or not; however, i will suggest Neocate 1+ if you are not dealing with any guts problems. It’s less greasy as the calories comes more from carbs than from fat. I hope this help. We might be changing if does not agree well with kendra.

Inactiveok i am not really good at this.
than what would i add in his bottle of rice milk? the GI ped. said to add one scoop to the bottle..sooo.. what in the world would be equivalent to one scoop?? like a tablespoon?? if soo.. how many calories/ fats would that even add?i am really really not good at math 😉July 14, 2007 at 6:25 pm #39247Anonymous
InactiveOh, I am not sure then. I would call the GI and talk to a nurse and see what they say. Or you could figure out how many tablespoons are in a half cup and divided the cals/fats/proteins out that way. addysmommy2007-07-14 18:25:54

Inactiveo.k i did the math all by myself 😉 haha! 8 tablespoons in 1/2 cup.. soo 12 grams of fat in 1/2 cup.. therefore 1.5 grams of fat in one tablespoon. the scooper from the elecare can is a tiny bit more than a tablespoon. soo i could use that. and put a tablespoon in each bottle. not too much i am adding than huh? hmm.. i have some thinking to do.. either this… or use the olive oil.. which is about 5 grams of fat in a teaspoon! or i am thinking about going back to using some goats milk!!
he wasnt too bad on that.. we got off because his ped wanted to see if he wasnt sleeping well because of it.. but at this point i dont think its because of it. and its a safe way of getting what he needs! hmm.. i dont know what to do! but thanks for your help with the neocate!July 15, 2007 at 10:05 am #39262Anonymous
InactiveHmmm….so many dilemmas!

(Laughing with you, not at you…). Hmmm… the Neocate has not only the fats he needs, but also so many vitamins and mineral. But the olive oil has more fat and it’s more natural, and a heck of a lot cheaper. I think if it were me I’d do the olive oil and make sure he’s on a good multi vitamin.July 15, 2007 at 12:45 pm #39269Anonymous
Inactiveyeah.. maybe i will do both for a while! like some neocate here and there..and some always the olive oil?? anyone has any potential problems with this…? haha.. so crazy huh? just to make sure our babies get what they need.. and on top of all this he is such a picky eater! only likes a couple things…
i guess i will give the rice milk a couple weeks.. and if i dont see a difference i am going back to the goats.
ohh and does anyone know anything about adding a powder protien?? if i dont do any neocate.. i dont know much about that but i think i heard it on here somewhere.
