Inactivegabbs,
It may be the age, because Caden is REALLY fighting his naps and sleep in general these days, and I notice that our babies are about the same age. I have just tried my best to let him decide when he naps lately, even if it’s not on a “schedule”. He usually goes down the first time around 11:00am and takes another nap around 6:00pm. Not ideal, I know, but when I allow him to rest when he is ready (not on my schedule), he takes a MUCH better nap. This morning he slept 1 1/2 hours, and right now he has been asleep for an hour. He probably won’t go to bed until 10:30 tonight, but I can deal with that if he will just give me a break or two during the day.I hope it gets better for you soon. They go through changes just when we think we have something figured out, and we are back to square one! I’ll be thinking about you and will say a little prayer for you. I know how hard it can be to coordinate everything when our little ones are so unpredictable.I hope you have a good night’s rest.Take care

InactiveHey Gabbs,
I just wanted to say YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!!
Kate sleeps really great in her crib at night and self soothes and everything but naps…..what naps?
She refuses to sleep anywhere but her swing out of habit. Anyway, I just wanted you to know I’m going through this with you and hopefully this will pass quickly for both of us and our babies. It’s sooooo frustrating especially when she’s soooo overtired…I’m overtired at that point too!! The swing is such a nightmare b/c now she’s older and not so quickly soothed to sleep and now I put her in her swing most of the time and she just starts cracking up like ” woooo-hoooo! let’s partyyy!” UGH!!!
Anyway,I hope this gets better soon for you guys…and me!!!Kate’s Mommy2007-07-25 08:59:16

InactiveGabbs,
I think we have the same baby! And I am just as frustrated
! I decided to do what Claire said and let Amelia decide her schedule. Now she is fighting naps until I feed her next (she is breastfed) and she will only go to sleep on my breast~ then it’s only for 30 minutes! I think she is now incapable of soothing herself to sleep. So, yes, you are not going through this alone! If I figure anything out, I’ll let you know. If you figure it out, let me know! Keep us posted how it’s going!July 25, 2007 at 10:43 pm #39870Anonymous
Inactiveim letting him decide if he is not tired enough i wont put him to sleep but then i have to wait until he is overtired
which everybody says youre not supposed to…. anyways for now that is working for us letting him be overtired and then try to rock him until he falls asleep so far he took 2 naps today one at 1p.m. and other at 4p.m. both of 40 min each and then went down for the night at 8:45p.m. let’s see how he does
so far im in a better mood to cope with itJuly 27, 2007 at 1:04 pm #39963Anonymous
Inactivei think i figured it out what was happening with my baby he was sleeping in and waking up too late because these days he has been waking up as usual around 8:30a.m. he went back to his 2 naps not that much improvement on how much they last still napping around 40 min each now but at least napping
