InactiveMy daughter was born at 34 weeks and has acid reflux. She was in the NICU for awhile and got so use to the bottles that she won’t breastfeed. So I have been pumping. I have been using the bottles from the hospital but no she needs regular bottle because she is eating more. But I don’t know which to use. I had Avent but she was so gassy from them. So then I got Dr. Brown but the flow is too fast even on the slowest nipple. So I was wondering what experience you had with Ventaire or Drop Ins. I am worried about leaking with Ventaire.

InactiveI used the Ventaire for both of my little ones. Never had any type of leaking problem. It’s so hard to choose bottles – there are so many choices.

InactiveWelcome to the forum. My friend’s twins were in the NICU due to prematurity as well and the MD reccommended the Playtex drop in since it was the closest thing to the nipples used in the bottle from the NICU.

InactiveWe use playtex dropins as well..and they are great. The nipple is the closest thing to a real nipple. we get the silicone nipples. and the dropins are easy.. make sure that after you pour the formula/breastmilk in the dropins.. to push on the bottom of the bad to get all the air out! that way they wont be gassy.

InactiveThe only bottle that my son every took to was the playtex drop in. He loved to hold the end with the little baggie too – I think it was a comfort thing.
I have a huge bag of these in my garage (the plastic part – probably some nipples too). Send me a PM or email me at laurak4@excite.com if you want me to send some to you. I was just about to recycle them to the curb.Let me know. Good luck in your choosing.July 30, 2007 at 10:19 am #40136Anonymous
InactiveI tried the Ventaire and the nipple was way too slow. Think I will just stick to Dr. Browns. Thanks for the offer though.
