We own two time shares (in the process of selling one) and we are thrilled! It does take a couple of vacations to recoup your outlay, and then there are maintenance fees every year, but after having these boys it really put things in perspective for us. We bought ourselves that one week a year that we leave everything behind and spend time as a family. We also try to do this every day, but it really is something for us to look forward to going to.
The way we did it for one, was one week a year in the same place every year, but we could trade it in and go anywhere any week we wanted to. The other one we bought “points”. For the points, different resorts cost a different amount of points and at different times of the year, they can cost different amounts of points as well. This way, if we play our points right, we might get two vacations a year out of them.
for us, it was more the committment to go on vacation, as we don’t always put those things first.
