So, my daughter’s reflux seems much better, though her weight gain is still a concern. Now, though, as a mom who NEVER had issues with supply (I leaked for over a year with my son), I now am worried that I don’t have enough for her increasing demand. She has been such a poor nurser that now I have less to give. I am pumping more, drinking more, and taking fenugreek. I heard great things about the herb goat’s rue, but the tinctures it comes in include another galactagogue, blessed thistle, which actually increases stomach acid. I am looking for any other tips and suggestions for kicking my milk production into gear.

AVOID BLESSSED THISTLE!

Hi,
I don’t have a lot of time, but one thing you can try that really helped me (if you aren’t doing this already) is try pumping between 4 and 6 in the morning. For some reason your supply is naturally higher at this time and if you pump then it will tell your body to produce more milk.

When I was trying to re-lactate, I pumped every 2 hours during the day and woke up in the night and pumped every 4 hours…It was very tiring as my dd was sleeping through the night at that point but I did begin producing a small amount of milk again. Unfortunately, I had to stop bc my dd couldn’t digest my milk (found out later she was FPIES). Good luck and I am sure you can get your milk supply back up! 🙂
