My 2 month old daughter just saw the doctor about her reflux yesterday. I noticed a change in her that she wasn’t screaming as much latley(meaning not 24/7) still crying but just not as much. Her spitting up however seems to be worse than ever, And if it doesn’t completly come out she just swollows it again, and makes a very painful like expression. Any way she weighs 12 pounds and 5 ounces, she is in th 97% for weight. He put her on a medication called Novo-Ranidine??? If any body knows anything about this please let me know. She may have what is called silent reflux which is just as bad due to the acid, or at least I think that is what she may have.
I have never heard of the medication, but I just wanted to lend a sympathetic ear. My son, Ben, has silent reflux and he is REALLY big as well. He is almost 5 months old and last we checked him he was 20lbs (also 97%). He is the sweetest little boy, though, and people keep reassuring me that once he’s more mobile he’ll thin out a bit. Hang in there!!! Ben is on zegerid now, which really seems to help him. He was not a big spitter upper, though.
Many bubs with silent gerd end up chubby. Alana was also a big bub (comfort eater) but she is now starting to level of…Still a bigger bub but not gaining above what is normal.
