OK, I know this is a strange question-

does anyone else have a baby with extreme head sweating issues while eating?

It doesn’t happen all the time- maybe half the time, and mostly in the evening, but when I give Niko her bottle, by the time its done, her head is drenched in sweat- wet hair, sweat dripping down my arm- really extreme. This isn’t really a new issue, but has gotten much more severe since we went from bf to all bottles. My husband says babies just sweat from their heads, something about the plates not being fused and heat escaping, but it just seems really strange and unsettling to me.

any thoughts?

YES!!!! This happened to Hailey when she was eating/feeding and sleeping. I told the ped about it. He said that it could just be her, or that there were several other possibilities: 1) an overactive autonomic nervous system (basically meaning that she’s stressed out ie. an over active stress response); 2) a hormonal imbalance; 3) a cardiac problem; 4) just a strange anomoly that’s her.

I’d mention it to your ped and see if he thinks it’s normal, or if he wants to do any testing just to make sure.

I’m sure it’s nothing, but I always like to be safe.

i think babies just do that sometimes.
