We were in the same position with Hailey. It sounds like you’re doing everything right. Hailey used to choke on reflux a lot. Our doc told us that if she wasn’t turning blue, even if she was turning red, then it was okay. Also, if she wasn’t having repeated pneumonias or resp infections that meant that she was clearing it fine, and that it wasn’t a problem. If you’re worried, I’d mention it to the ped. Maybe even try to videotape it and show him/her.
But, it sounds to me like you’re doing the right things. If her pain is controlled, that’s all you can really ask from the prevacid, so it wouldn’t do any good to up her dose. Motility meds like reglan are somewhat controversial, especially if she doesn’t have DGE.
My opinion is that if the pain’s under control, then you’re on the right track. If you think that MSPI is an issue, you can always start exploring that route and see if a formula change (or a diet change for you if BF) helps. Also, if you’re worried about her sleeping, you can always look into an angel care monitor. I’ve never used one, but I know that it’s given other moms some peace of mind. Good luck.
