Sorry if you have read this twice…I accidently posted it in the Introduce Yourself section.
Hope someone can help….
My son is 8 months old now and has had reflux since birth. He was on Prilosec and 3 weeks ago started having symptoms of Sandifer’s (eyes rolling). We had an EEG which was clear, and an Upper GI which just showed reflux and no blockages. Then his ped. switched him to Prevacid. Once on Prevacid he started projectile vomitting. This was a first for us. His first 8 months he would just spit up and have the classic signs of reflux. After a few days of the projectile vomitting we switched back to Prilosec (a higher dose now) because I thought maybe he was having a reaction to the Prevacid. After switching back to Prilosec he is still projectile vomitting. We switched back 4 days ago.
My questions:
Why would he just now start projectile vomitting?
Could he have had a reaction to the Prevacid and still have it in his system?
How soon after he vomits should I try feeding him again?
Any suggestions to help keep his food down?
Also, he is now losing weight. He has lost 1/2 pound. Should I be worried?
Any help would be sooooo appreciated. I am so tired of dealing with this and ready for him to outgrow!!!
