We went to GI last week and he was worried about my little DD’s feeding aversion. She is 7 months and weighs 6.8K.G. . He decided to give her a barium test; it went very well. He also said that an endoscopey was necessary, so I reluctantly agreed and she had it done last Friday.
They discovered that my DD has an unusual thing (1 in 800) where the first part of her small intestines is vertical instead of horizontal! The GI said that many people , who have it, live normal lives but it could affect her reflux. They also did a biopsy and found that she did have oesophagites but it seems to be healing. Finally, she had no allergies.
My DD has been on medication ever since she was 6 weeks. She started with Zantac, then motilium, then zoton (prevacid) and finally losec ( granules). The GI decided to put her on LOSEC MUPS 15 mg 2times a day ( we just dissolve it in water).
My DD stopped breastfeeding at 6 months due to her horrible feeding aversion so we put her on neocate, but the GI suggested that we switch her to Enfamil AR. Ever since her barium, she started feeding better ( 3 solids per day + 4-5 bottles of 120 Ml). However, in the last 2 days her feeding got worse. She is refusing the milk at all times and would only eat solids (with no milk added).
We are so confused and don’t know why the sudden change in appetite? She seems to be happy but would only take water and solids… She needs to take at least 500 mls of milk per day; I heard that yougurt is a god alternative, is it? The GI said that we will have days like that. Our last alternative is to operate to fix her small intestines , but we really don’t want this …
