My ds has had an exzema rash for about 2 weeks (since he went on Amoxicillan) and was wondering if it could be oatmeal. he started this about a month before the rash but that is the only thing that he gets regularly. Can a rash start weeks after eating? He has been on the amox for 1.5 weeks and still has the dry patchy rash on his back.

Thanks

Yes the reaction can build up over time. Tyler had problems with oatmeal. I think it is also more likely to have an allergy to wheat if you have one to oats. I would try other cereals like rice, maize, buckwheat, quinoa, or amaranth.

Kaelyn’s rash developed after weeks of exposure to milk and wheat. So, it’s definitely possible that it’s a delayed reaction to oatmeal.
