InactiveA big thank you to everyone who replied about Michael with medicine suggestions. I went to the Marci kids website and did some calculations. Turns out he was taking 15 mg when the lowest he should be on is 27mgs 3xs per day! Anyway, I took matters into my own hands and upped him to 22.5 mgs 3xs per day… wouldn’t you know it… HE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

I was soo happy! He wasn’t in pain or crying and he woke up so happy, clapping and smiling and talking in his crib! First time he slept through the night in his 14 months! (Wouldn’t you know it, Katharine was up with bad dreams all night and in my bed!
..murphy’s law!) Anyway, we are going to the ped gi in about 2 hours and I am going armed with the MARCI kids meds chart and fire on my heels! Wish us luck!March 31, 2006 at 1:01 pm #5042Anonymous
InactiveThat’s awesome! Congratulations! That’s so funny about the other child keeping you up. That always happens to me, except in my case, it’s my two big dogs that keep me up. Whenever Logan sleeps through the night, the dog will get sick and puke on the bed or something – too funny! Glad to hear things are going well and good luck with the GI!

Good news!! Thanks for sharing. It makes me so happy to hear another baby is doing better. I, too am very thankful for this site and for Marci-kids. It it wasn’t for them my baby would still be suffering. I’m glad Michael is doing better, and I can relate about one sleeping through the night and the other one waking you up. I have three and if it’s not the baby, then the two-year-old will have nightmares, or the four-year-old will have a coughing fit in the middle of the night. I guess you give up your right to ever sleep again once you have children!!!

InactiveMelissa! So glad you played with the dose. You do need to take things into your own hands sometimes. I didn’t really feel worried about doing it because of all the wonderful research i read from marci kids. How did it go at the gi appt?
Hope michael makes a habit out of sleepign through the night. Now that he feels better, I hope he gets some well deserved rest (so he can grow out of the reflux faster!) I don’t know if us mom’s will ever catch up on our beauty sleep!

InactiveWell we had our GI appt today. The doctor has upped Michael’s Prevacid from 15 mgs to 30 mgs and is sending us for an allergy blood test. Hopefully the up in meds will help tremendously! Thanks for the help everyone!
