We just started switching ds to alimentum due to MSPI that was finally diagnosed yesterday. Since starting the switch, he hasn’t had anymore blow-out diapers and seems to be starving for his bottle. He still hasn’t had a full bottle with just the Alimentum as he isn’t liking the taste. He is however eating a ton. I’ve stopped solids for a bit to see if we can get him feeling better but can’t believe it is happening this fast. Could it be? They also upped his prevacid by a bit.

Yeah! I completely believe that alimentum and nutramigen work right away! We notice a difference in the first 2 days!

Great news I hope things continue to get better and better. My son finally improved after UPPING his Prevacid, too. Keep us posted!

That’s great! hailey would never take the alimentum or the nutramigen. Even when I just added a few drops she could sniff it out of a whole bottle and would refuse the bottle (but she has issues). I’ve always thought that if I could have made the switch we would not be in this mess. Hope things continue to improve.

Great news! The alimentum rtf was awsome for us (before the neocate switch). In a week or so you will really see a difference when the intestines heal. Also, remember…. it doesn have some milk proteins that can build up in their systems. So if he starts having problems again, call the doc for some neocate samples. (don’t know why nobody told me that!) Glad you got the prevacid upped too! Hope you both have more good days now that bad ones!

Thanks. it seems to be working but now he is eating tons. I am supposed to emaill his doc on Thursday and let her know how it is going and if it is good then she will call in the prescription for his formula. They mentioned neocate if this doesn’t work but hopefully…
