Some of you may recall that I was very excited because I had finally gotten a phone consultation scheduled for today with Dr. Krigsman so we could get the ball rolling and have Paige seen by him. She’s been in a lot of pain, doing tons of posturing, getting up crying 2-3 times (or more) each night, unable to eat much of anything, etc.

Well, I got a call from his office this morning saying that Dr. K wouldn’t be able to do the phone consult because they didn’t have enough lab information yet. My response – what??! Apparently my liason person who is compiling the kids’ charts hasn’t gotten her sh*t together so none of the lab work is in their charts except for a urinalysis. Meanwhile we’ve done stool samples, 2 rounds of bloodwork, x-rays, etc. that should be in there! Apparently my liason (who I’ve never really liked because she doesn’t return my phone calls or emails) is leaving her job (maybe fired?) and hasn’t bothered to do dick-all to compile my kids’ charts so that the doctor could review them for our consult. And of course she’s not there today. And she didn’t reply to my email 2 days ago that I sent to make sure everything was ready and in place for the phone consult, and to let me know if there was anything else she needed….

Sorry for the long rant, but it’s been a tough morning and I’m just frustrated. I know Dr. Krigsman is brilliant and that he’s going to be the one to help Paige, so I’m just going to hang in there while they transition me to a new contact person and try to get my kids files together and find the missing lab work and case histories. They were super apologetic once they found out the whole story, so that made me feel a tiny bit better.

Oh Sheri I have been waiting for this update all day long and now I am as mad as you are.. Well maybe not as mad but I am close b/c I know what you have been going through and this totally sucks. I hope they can get all the info together quickly b/c I know you are not having any fun these days and I am sure poor Paige is miserable as well. I am keeping you in my prayers that this turns around quickly.

Ugh…I didn’t remember the exact day of this call, but I have been thinking about it lately. Has someone else been given this job yet? Hopefully you can be put on the front burner and things will be sped along for you. I have read a lot about Dr K and he sounds amazing. Good luck and keep us updated!

aw crap, Sheri! That sucks!!!!!! I really hope the ball gets rolling soon and that somebody with 3/4 a brain gets to take over your kids’ files!!! sending hugs & prayers your way. I am so ticked off for you!

Oh man, that is more than maddening! You are doing all you can and MORE! Just keep your head up and keep pushing for Paige! It is so very frustruating when you are trying so hard and one person drops the ball! Is this a liason from their office or somehow connected with your office? If she hasn’t been fired, it sounds like she should be!

Sheri,

I’m so sorry to hear what happened. I hate having to rely on others including DH to things that are important! I have the feeling the same thing is going to happen to us for our upcoming appointments with the Developmental and the Celiac MD. I wished I could just get all of the records and do it myself!! I hope everything get situated soon for you guys! Big hugs!!!

Ugh! I bet you wanted to reach through the phone and throttle someone! I’m so sorry that it was such a disappointing day for you and poor Paige. I will be praying that that office gets its act together and you finally get some answers.

Thank you everyone for all the support – yesterday was a frustrating day. My husband was livid! Good thing I was on the phone and not him, I’m the more cool-headed of the two of us!

Seeing that we weren’t getting anywhere, I decided to dust off my superwoman outfit and got on the phone with the labs who performed Ben and Paige’s blood and stool tests. Within one hour, I had all of the results faxed to Dr. K’s office! They called me back later in the afternoon to say that Dr. K will phone me Sunday morning to do the consult! So, here’s hoping everything goes smoothly tomorrow morning!

What wonderful news… I will keep you all in my prayers tonight as I did on Thursday night I am so happy that this is getting taken care of. He must just be wonderful if he is going to call on a Sunday!!! Fingers etc crossed for you all.
