My refluxer is having a really hard time with his bottles lately. He is fed breastmilk thru a dr. brown’s bottle, 4 oz every 3 hours. Lately he has been really squirming during the feeding, gulping, and just very aggrevated like. It doesn’t seem like he has a very good suck. He is getting over a dbl ear infection but i don’t think that is contributing to the problem anymore. He does fine at night when he pretty much sleeps thru the feeding. He has the whole proper suck pattern down then but during his day feedings its a nightmare. I saw something on babies being tongue tied and wonder if that could be the case. He has never wanted to take a pacifier. My first refluxer was the same way when it came to the pacifier. They just want nothing to do with it. Has anyone had any experience with the tongue tied issue. Also, i thought about trying to put some rice cereal in his bottle to possibly thicken it, thinking that it may just be coming out to fast for him to swallow. Has anyone incountered any of this? (BTW-Brock is 3 months old and on Prevacid, 15 mg 2x a day–per the wonderful marcikids.com)
