Hi all, still here. My little one is now 11 months old. He had an upper gi which came back normal. He is scheduled for an adenoidectomy next week and a egd (scope). His weight and height gain has been slow – too slow. No one will increase his meds. I think his reflux is better, just don’t understand why he won’t eat more solids.

Anyone have any advice on solids and getting more cals in my little one. It is so hard to try so many different foods and he just spits them out.

Anyone have any ideas for me? Anyone been through this with their little one?

I pray things get better for him. He is chronically congested. Always on antibiotics (had tubes at 5 months). I wonder how much of this is due to reflux? All of it?

sylvia used to refuse her food or she would chew it and spit it out. she had esophageal thrush—-followed by obstructive sleep apnea because of very large tonsils and adenoids. once we got all those things taken care of, she has done great.

An easy way to add calories is to add Duocal to their bottles. Ask your doc about it. That got my little one over the hump.

We use Polycose for added calories… we were on Duocal but Evan is borderline allergic to corn & the Duocal is derived from corn. Polycose is derived from corn as well but broken down much more. So, we switched to Polycose & actually it’s a bit cheaper than Duocal. I get it on Amazon for $47 for 6 cans. A can lasts about 2 weeks for us (we add 175 calories/day per Evan’s dietician).

Just wanted to chime in re: Duocal vs. Polycose in case your LO is intolerant to corn.
