hello guys,

my son Jude is showing signs of the reflux again.

Jude is 5 months now. He was diagnosed with reflux at 3 weeks, on prevacid. It got better, less spitup and a much happier baby. Well not any more, he first started to spitup, and then spit up a little more as the days, now he is starting to cry uncontrolably. We are realy not sure if its the ACID OR SOMTHING ELSE. How can we tell? He is on formula and breast, bowl movements have been regular and eregular, has a bowl movement every day or every 3 days. He has been on 15mlg a day of prevacid, and are uping his dosage with the maci kids calculator.

We are asuming its acid, he has the arching back, spitup, crying, and has sadifers syndrome.

Could it be somthing else? Just wanting to make sure as we are uping his dosage.

Can youe guys give me ur opinion please.

It could be a number of things. Is he teething? They produce more histamines which irritate reflux. Also reflux in general tends to peak between 4-6 months, so he is at the prime age for that as well. I would try the increased dose and give it 2wks, if no change then I would call the doc and have a talk. but I almost bet that his reflux if flaring for either teeth or just b/c of his age. HTH>.
