I had a “nice” pharmacist tell me this morning that Zegerid would soon be available over the counter. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I was just wondering if there’d be a way to give the OTC version to infants? It seems likes lots of parents on here have a hard time getting their Dr. to rx Zegerid, so maybe it will be helpful that it will hopefully be OTC soon.

Yes, it is true! Around May the 20mg capsules will be coming out. They ARE immediate release like the powder but Dr. Phillips says the taste is AWFUL. He is working on a buffer/powder that can mixed with them to make it easier for babies to take. Eventually the powder packets will be OTC as well (not sure when) and THEN…a tablet for children that can be dropped directly into a bottle! How cool will that be?!?!?!!
