In theory, if the dose if high enough, losec should be just as effective as prevacid. The key is getting the dose high enough, and the preparation made correctly. I’ve yet to hear of a compound being made correctly, i.e. without flavouring, enough buffer, and at the correct concentration. You can read more details about this in the link stickied in the meds forum (about pharmacy compounded PPIs or treating Gerd with PPIs). I believe that prevacid is called zoton in the UK. Not sure if you have the solutabs yet, maybe called the fastabs? Another option is to order buffer babies from marci-kids and then make your own losec suspension. Good luck.
