aariz will be 1 year on may 3rd, we survived a whole year of horrible reflux, the reflux is still tehre howver it is more silent, however he still on 15mg prevacid solutabs, and nutrimigen.
we did ras testing when he was three months, milk showed up as negative, but sinc ehis reflux was so bad and he also had delayed gastric empting, nutrimigen was helpful in digesting etc, etc…
we started solids very slowly with him, actually not only he was 8 months old. he is only on oatmeal cereal, fruits & vegetables. we haven’t done any meats yet. however since he is 1, and seems to tolerate most solids ok, our GI doc has said it is worthwhile to try switching from nutrimigen to Nestle Good start and see how it goes. our daughter who is almost five has a strong milk allergy, and was never able to take nutrimigen, she was only able to tolerate neocate & alimentum.
my question is has anyone been successful in transitioning formulas like nutrimgen to good start. any suggestions? what to expect etc….plus, if aariz does truly have an allergy to milk, would we be able to tell right away????
