My baby girl (3 weeks old) has had a white discharge coming from her right eye since birth. I thought maybe pink eye, but my doctor is suggesting a clogged tear duct, however he did prescribe the same ointment they put in newborns eyes right after delivery. The eye discharge dries green and crusts her eye over until it is glued shut.
Now the eye discharge jumped from eye to eye, her left eye would get goopy while her right eye would clear up, then her left eye would clear up and her right eye would get goopy. We didn’t see a change in any of the discharge even with the ointment until we switched from Soy to Nutramigen, but when we went to Enfamil AR her eyes began getting yucky again, so I am wondering if I am seeing possible MSPI?
Any advice or comments?
We are switching back to Nutramigen tonight with added beechnut oatmeal for thickness(it has no soy or milk protein)to help with the spitting up. Anyways, I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or opinions on this matter?
