How much formula are your 4 month olds eating at each feeding. My son has reflux and takes 6 ounces every 4 hours. A total of 5 bottle (30 ounces) Can he take 7 ounces or do reflux babies need less formula at each sitting?
All babies are different, but that’s quite a bit compared to mine. My first only took 25-26 ounces a day, and she didn’t have reflux. My second took about 25 ounces per day. My third takes less than 20 ounces per day plus, some solids.
None of my three ever drank more than 6 ounce bottles.
mine eats 4 oz every 3-4 hours that’s with cereal added , he usually only eats 16-20 oz..and trust me he seems satisfied and well fed, hes a chunk, 85%Aidansmom792006-4-25 16:26:34
Thanks for the replys. That means that we are on track with the formula feedings then. I did not think that he would be able to consume any more at each feeding or we would have major spit up. I guess we will always stay at 6 ounces even when we decide to start solids.
yep. mine is already on solids and he still only takes 4 oz at each bottle. A lot of the time refluxers will eat less at each feeding but more often, like mine eats every 2 ish hours instead of every 5 (or whatever normal babies do) a lot of refluxers have low motility, meaning sometimes their tummies stay fuller longer which causes them to eat less at a time (that’s what Aidan’s dr told me)
