I was thinking about switching my 3 month old from the Avent Bottles to the Dr. Brown bottles. The Avent bottles have a wide neck, so if I buy the Dr. Brown wide neck bottles, will he have an easier transition than if I bought the regular ones? I know every child is different, but I wanted to see if anyone else had a personal experience with this. Thanks in advance.
Keep in mind Dr. Browns nipples are MUCH softer than Avents. I have tried them all. I find to my surprise and about $200 in bottles later that…the cheap Playtx drop ins are better for my daughter and her reflux and gas. She transitioned to these easily. Had a hard time with the soft Dr. Brown nipples.
The wide neck Dr. Browns have a wider nipple; more similar to the Avent than the narrow neck Dr. Brown’s which have a more traditional nipple shape. I’d try the wide neck first if your baby is used to the Avent nipple.
