InactiveI have no idea where I should post this, so sorry if it’s in the wrong spot.
Twice today Emma has spit up something sort of spotty and purplish pink tinged along with her formula. She did it once a little bit and I wasn’t sure if maybe we got something on the burp rag – we just use cloth diapers. Then again later about 20 minutes after I fed her she did it again and it’s the same only more. Some of it is pinkish, some of it is almost purple. I tried to call our ask a nurse and of course was on hold for 30 minutes.
I have no idea if I should take her to the ER or what this might be. She is only on Prevacid, nothing else. Has anyone else had this happen or know if I should take her to the ER? She is acting fine otherwise..

InactiveYes, there have been several threads about spitting up pinkish or purple. It has always turned out to be the prevacid. Joel once posted that if the stomach isn’t completely empty when the prevacid is given then sometimes the prevacid will break down in the stomach which creates that colour, if it’s then vomitted up. If you’re worried, you can always ask your doc, though he might not know about the prevacid. I’ll try to find you that thread.

InactiveThank you very much! Scared me, though it didn’t look like blood. We ended up taking her to the doctor and they were all stumped. Tested it for blood and it was not, so that relieved me right away. Nobody had a clue what it might have been and of course they all said it couldn’t be the Prevacid. lol. Shows how much they know!
My husband is the one that thought it could be the Prevacid and I did give it to her oh probably an hour after she ate – trying to get kids ready to go back to school and forgot to give it to her BEFORE her bottle. So obviously I caused that!
Live and learn! Upped her dose to 7.5 mg 3 times a day, so am hoping that makes a difference. We had a happy day yesterday for the most part, but ya never know about today!
Thanks for the help!!

InactiveThanks for posting the link. I didn’t even think last night to do a search for that!
It is definitely the Prevacid!
