my daughter is now on 20mg losec mups in the tablet form you dissolve in water and then mix with applesauce.I’ve been told to give her two doses of 10mg. The first question is the dr has given me the 20mg tablets so i am having to cut them in half is this ok?
Also I give them 30mins before a meal on an empty belly but i worry that as she is still uncomfy sometimes she doesn’t eat much and as i am breastfeeding i cannot tell how much she gets!! (she won’t take a bottle
would this be a problem if she doesn’t eat enough?Also how much water/applesauce should i mix it with? it says 2 teaspoons for 1 tablet of 20mg.
I don’t feel the mups have been working as well as the suspension did but i would rather use them as they taste nicer for her and are easier to get from the pharmacy also they stay stable whereas the suspension had 2-3 days at the end where it didn’t work which seems pointless as then she is back to square 1 again!!
I feel i may not be using these mups correctly and as the drs don’t tell you anything any advice would be good as to what you do??!!??
i think the morning dose is not a problem as she has an empty belly and is very hungry by then but its the evening i’m not sure i’m leaving enough time for her to be hungry enough and she doesn’t seem to eat much.
Would it still work if i thought she hadn’t drank enough milk to give her a solid meal as she loves it and will keep eating until i stop her!!

Is Losec mups the same as Prevacid Solutabs here in the US?
My litle guy was on the solutabls and I was told that solids would be fine after the 30 minutes.
He often only drank 2-3 ounces so I’d give him some solids to increase his intake and hopefully make the meds work better.I used only about a teaspoon of water to dissolve his solutab, but I don’t think it matters much as long as she’s getting the full dose. I wouldn’t use too much applesauce though, because the medication should be given on an empty stomach.

you can’t get zegerid, but you can get caracream! it’s zegerid’s predescessor & my baby Jonah took it for nearly a year & it was AMAZING
