The doctor just called and said that it sounds as though Vincent has a protein intolerance. What is this? What are the symptoms? If you have had a child with this, what formula/meds are they on?

is he milk AND soy protein intolerant? my son is-its called MSPI for short.
he was on every formula and had bad reflux and mucous in the stools. then we tried alimentum for a while which seemed to work for about 3 weeks and then the tiny milk proteins in there apparently built up in his system and he started refluxing like crazy and was in a lot of pain while eating even though he was on a high dose of zegerid.
he is now on neocate which is an amino acid based formula and on zegerid (a PPI for acid reflux) and doing wonderful-and no more crying after feedings

There’s a new forum under Feedings for MSPI. Looks like some of the links and threads have already been moved, so maybe take a look at that.

Sorry, I’m not much help with this but I’m hoping you can get little Vincent treated and doing better.
