Could someone help me work out how much Zantac my baby can have?
The ped said to stop giving it to her but as the prilosec isn’t working she needs it. We are seeing another GI on 21st nov to try and get prevacid so i’m winging it until then.
She is pretty bad though so i need to up the zantac as it hasn’t been done for months.
She weighs approx 16lb 1/2 and the zantac concentration we have is 150mg/10ml she is currently on 3ml a day.

ok 16.5 lbs divided by 2.2 = 7.5 kilos
zantac dosing is 5mg-10mg per kilo, so I’ll figure out the highest dose which is 10mg/kilo
7.5 x 10 = 75mgs, total for the day, of zantac
there’s 15mg in each ml you give
so, 75mgs = 5mls
you can give a total of 5mls over the course of a 24hr period
divide it up 2 or 3 times as you want-
2.5mls 2x a day
or 2mls, 2mls & 1ml
