InactiveSorry I haven’t been around much the past few days but my father-in-law passed away Saturday night. Just a little over 3 weeks ago, he was diagnosed with lung and liver cancer and things really progressed quickly. He went into the hospital last Tuesday and went home on Friday because there was nothing more they could do and he didn’t want any aggressive treatment. He passed away with his wife, all 6 of his kids, their spouses, and many grandchildren by his side. It was such an amazing experience. I worked in social work at a nursing home for over 10 years so I had experienced death close up many times but this was so amazing. We sang his favorite songs, read favorite Bible verses, shared memories – it was just such a wonderful way for him to leave this world. My hubby is having a hard time with it but all of what I am seeing with him is totally normal grieving process. The funeral isn’t until Friday so we came home for a few days so Kayla and Abby can have a few “normal” days before we head back to Minnesota. Both Lynn and I have 5 days of funeral leave so this worked out great to be able to not have to worry about work for this week.
Well Abby wants her breakfast so I better run

I was wondering where you had been the last few days and if Abby is feeling better?

InactiveAbby has been doing really well the past few days. A couple days on the antibiotic, the neb treatments and the prednisone shot really has turned things around. She and Kayla were such a bright spot in such a sad time in our family’s life – people couldn’t help but smile when they turned on the charm. I was such a proud mama
. Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts – you guys mean so much to me!!
