we are only on axid after trying stuff. We`are suppose to be weaning him off of it but instead we are having issues at night. Last night he went down at 8 and got up at 10:30 and then at 3;30 then again 6:00.
DH was telling me that I should call the pedi GI about him waking. I am not sure if he is in pain- he seems to always nurse and nurse pretty good.
I am just so tired here he is 8 monthsa old and STILL getting up. We tried to let him CIO but that’s not woring too well. I am ready to throw in the towel and give him formula- of course he most likely won’t take it.
We still have multiple night wakings at 19 months (not to scare you). But I’ve learned when it comes to refluxers, the typical rules don’t apply. Our ped actually wants us to continue night feedings until age 2 b/c Hailey doesn’t take in enough during the day. I think it’s really a case of trial and error. I agree though, it is exhausting. If he’ll take a bottle from dh then that would give you a break.
we did all the experimentation at about 8 or 8 1/2 months (sending dh in w/ water, etc)
I would try to give a (rather large) dose of axid before bed & see if that does anything…
also: what happens if you go to feed him while asleep at 11:00pm? just keep it dark & see what happens? kind of a ‘pre-emptive strike’ to see if it pushes him longer?
Both my ds are able to stay asleep and eat while sleeping…
I think if I try to feed him at 11 he will not wake. I have to really rub him pretty hard to get him to wake. I think I may try it but not tonight I just want to get SOME sleep!!!!!!!
At this point to be honest I am just happy he is happy and not screaming at feedings anymore. Though I do wonder if it maybe reflux related (?) not sure—-
wanted to add that Ryder just took a little bit of water mixed with a splash of apple juice from a sippy cup so maybe he will take some at night. Granted we won’t try in till the 18th! when I don’t have to work that weekend
