From what I’ve read here the stringy stuff can be mucus. Myles had it once or twice when I first started him on whole milk, but then it stopped. One mom posted that her doc said it’s not always a problem when there’s mucus in the stool. So, I’m really not sure what to make of it. If she’s feeling fine and sleeping well it’s probably ok. I stuck with the milk with Myles because he seemed happy and the stringy stuff went away after a few days. Mabye his body was just adjusting to the milk.
has she eated bananas? I think they cause stringy stuff…
anyway, anything in moderation, you know? a mucousy diaper here, a mucousy diaper there…but, if every diaper is gelatinous & stringy (eeew) and there’s behavioral indicators and/or reflux, well, then, I’d worry aobut the mucous…
I agree with Laura and Christine-If it happens all of the time then it is something to worry about but it does happen occasionally. I hope all is going well with the milk
Hey Emily, I thought it was a great question, I have always wondered myself. Since Alana has finally started swallowing solids I have noticed her stools are much firmer (from the lovely pepti-junior runny) but they look sometimes a bit stringy. But she also is sleeping through the night, haveing her usual naps, being a princess and not fussing. MMM maybe we should start a picture gallery wouldn’t that be fun- who wants to post first LOL
