I know Marci-Kids recommends 18-24 mg of prevacid per day for my dd (6 1/2 weeks, 11 pounds). My Dr. won’t go that high yet. I was just curious what dosage other kids were on at 6 weeks and what worked. I would appreciate your input!!

At 11 pounds, Hailey was on 20mg losec (officially), 24 unoficially. Her starting dose was 7mg given once daily, did nothing for her. Went up to 14mg once a day, still did nothing. (LOL or boo hoo, I’m not sure… can’t believe the doc ever prescribed it that low!) Actually, she didn’t start to really get good relief until she was on 24mg prevacid, and finally did best at 30mg prevacid. I’d try to get the doc to start high, and lower as able.

11/2.2 = 5kilos

5 x 3 = 15mgs
