Now that we are finally on the up end of dealing with 10 + days of RSV, today Ben was diagnosed with an ear infection! The poor kid can’t catch a break! So, he started amoxicillin today. Hopefully, this will be it for him though I worry about what it’s going to do to his belly.
Anyway, as it would figure, I caught the same virus as the kids, and have myself developed an ear infection, also diagnosed today. The doctor prescribed erythromiacin (sp?). I am scared to death to even take this medicine because of the likelihood of it causing thrush in Ben and a yeast infection on my breasts. What can I do? I can’t eat yogurt because of the diet I’m on, so I did buy some acidophilus. Is there anything else I can do to guard against the thrush? I just can’t imagine adding this to everything that we have been dealing with lately. Please help! I am really considering not taking the antibiotics but my ear is killing me and now it’s hurting in my jaw and I’m getting dizzy.
I really want to kick the lady who brought her sick kid to the nursery!!! grrrrrr.
