InactiveI didn’t do it. Ya. 3 weeks diet coke free. I feel like I am saving the world from multinational corporations single handedly

Good job, Therese! I want to quit too. Do you still crave it? For me the diet coke craving is almost worse than the food cravings I have.

InactiveYay Therese! (and LOL… you crack me up)!
I was VERY BAD today… Had McDonald’s with the kids and dh… a grilled chicken sandwich, an ice tea, and some fries….
okay, I feel better having confessed. (Am I forgiven?)

InactiveI absolve you Lori……
Christine, I only occasionally crave DC…usually when I have fish and chips (which I am now avoiding) or if I am out. I had a cold when I gave up and everything tasted yuck anyway
so it was probably a good time to give up. I find it I drink water all day it also helps. You can do it!!!!April 16, 2007 at 9:38 am #30636Anonymous
InactiveThanks, Therese. I’m going to try. I think I will start my OA abstinence today (OMG, can I really do it?) and I’ll give up Diet Coke at the same time. Wish me well.

Inactivewell, the Easter candy lingers here at the office. I wish someone would throw it away already! You guys are cracking me up about the diet cokes. I have always thought that they taste so nasty. If I can’t have the real thing, I’d rather drink water. I think I am going to have to follow the OA approach too as it seems I am addicted to sugar. Has anyone tried Sugarbusters?

Inactiveoh yeah, I also ordered a couple of the Cooking Light cookbooks which I should get today. Hoping there are some easy, healthy recipes in there. I also plan to pick up a pedometer soon and strive for 10,000 steps a day. I think I believe if I keep spending $$$, I will commit but hey isn’t that what I said about Weight Watchers??

Wish me luck this week. I’ve already made poor choices today and need all the support I can get!

InactiveGood luck Tiffany!
What’s Sugarbusters?
Forget about spending money being enough motivation. I have a $3,000 eliptical and a $1,500 bow flex and I’m fatter now than I was when we bought them.

InactiveLOL Christine!

Sugarbusters is a diet where I think you eliminate all refiend sugar to control fat but I am not really sure. I was hoping someone may post some more info. about it. Sugar really is my main problem. I will literally be so tired until I get my fix. My grandmother has low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) so I may go get tested just to rule anything medical out.

InactiveOh, yes I’ve heard of that, but I’d forgotten about it. I was hoping you knew of some pill I could take that would kill my addictions.
I think any diet that eliminates white sugar and white flour products is a good diet. That stuff is nothing but empty calories and for some of us it’s addicting. OA doesn’t tell you what to eat or not to eat but they do suggest eliminating white sugar and white flour. I’ve tried it a few times and after a few days your cravings subside. But as soon as I try eating it again I am addicted again. So, my plan which I started today definitely consists of no sugar and no white flour because I cannot eat those things in moderation.

InactiveI need to do Sugarbusters! I have no self control. I started today, but I’ll post about it in another thread.

InactiveGoodluck to everyone who is starting today

InactiveThanks Therese! How’s the diet coke diet going?

InactiveNo problems…I’ve kicked the habit…….for now at least!
I’m not trying to offend anyone, I’m just jealous
but….my collegue at work is looking skinnier by the day (on top of being skinny). I asked her about it and she said I just lose weight unless I eat all day and sometime I just forget to eat
WHATTTTTTTTT

I’v also found if I don’t snack between b’fast (which is always porridge with yoghurt) and lunch I don’t pig out that day…if I do snack things go bad…….

InactiveWell, today was my first day without diet coke. I want one so badly but I really want to kick the habit. I’ve been trying to drink water and iced tea (unsweetened).
Also today was my first almost abstinent day. It wasn’t great but much, much better than usual.

I wish I could “forget” to eat ALL DAY and “just lose weight” because of it.
