No, you can not compound the packets. The packets can be hard to give to babies if you need to split them. Others have had better luck with the solutabs. The thing is that they work best when given on an empty stomach and followed up by a meal 30 minutes later.

I believe that compounding pharmacies use either the capsules or prevacid generic to compound. I personally would not try to compound prevacid as it is VERY hard to make correctly. Pharmacies will tell you that they know how to do it, but I found the hard way that few pharmacies actually do. But that’s just my opinion based on our terrible experience with compounding.

You can actually get a prescription for the compounded Prevacid if you want to use that. That’s what we use, and we’ve been very happy with it. It’s nice not having to time it around meals or prepare it in any way. Bryce has done so well with it.
