Hi,

My daughter is 6.5 weeks old and 8 lbs, 9 ounces. The doctor put her on 2.5 ML of Prevacid once a day. It does not seem to be helping at all. (Her doctor will not consider another dosage and is leaving her on this medication.)

Does anyone have an idea of how much should be prescribed by weight or age?

how many mg/ml?

Hi,
Many of our babies have done very well with the doses recommended by marci-kids.com. According to their calculations, your little one would need 18 to 21 mg. per day. Hope that helps! Good luck finding someone who will give you a higher dose. Have you tried a family doctor?

Prevacid often takes a while before it kicks in. Little ones seem to need a higher dose of a PPI. You may need to find a different doc who will work with you.
