I have tryed dairy with Justice a few times now. He has had a half a container of the travel size cottage cheese and also about 4 bites of yo baby yogurt. I’m not sure what I’m looking for as far as a reaction goes. Before he would get exzema (sp), but is not getting that anymore. He sleeps fine, but is a little more fussy than usual. That could always be due to all the teeth he is getting in. What do you think?
If you don’t see any other type of reaction besides added fussiness, I would say go for it. If he’s teething, I would chalk it up to that but if it continues after his teeth break the surface, I would eliminate it again.
just a thought, nothing to do with reflux or mspi, but with calcium, lol!
if you look at the % of calcium in cottage cheese, I think you’ll find that ricotta cheese has more…(if I recall). I remember starting to look at calcium % with Jonah because he didn’t drink milk until 18months or so…so I started getting ‘creative’ with getting calcium into him…like I would buy the brand of cheese ravioli that had the most % calcium in them
That would be so great if Luke could tolerate milk and soy! I would try one first for a couple weeks and then start on the other though. If he isn’t breaking out, that is a great sign! Carson doesn’t break out any more either, but if I give him dairy (latest trial) a few days in a row, he gets such tummy aches and cries and has terrible nights – but it takes a few nights for it to build up.
Again, I hope this is your last trial you do! Good luck!
Laura , I hadn’t even thought about the calcium. Thank you.
What about a really bad bum rash? He had a really bad rash last week after trying dairy. It is finally going away now. I should have done a better job with keeping track of anything abnormal, but I just didn’t think the rash was abnormal until it got really bad.
Brianna gets a bad rash when she is teething …almost everytime. Pinxav saved up. I think if you can give him dairy successfully everyday for two weeks without any major change, then he should be fine.
