Hi everyone,

We have decided to persue getting a second opinion about my son’s reflux. Our GI doc has not been proactive at all and I think his reflux is worse than he is willing to explore. And I also believe he may be having other issues because of the reflux.

What I want to know is if there is a place that specalizes and is very aggressive in treatment of reflux in babies. There is only a few places in Atlanta that do pediatric GI and I want to go to someone who will be as concerned as we are, and at this point we dont care if we have to travel.

A friend of mine that works in the medical field said we could call a doctor at a hospital such as the Mayo Clinic or John Hopkins and the doc there could evaluate his files from his current doc and see what they think. I dont know if that is possible, but we are willing to try anything at this point.

I can tell you my experience in NY if you want….

Mount Sinai — there is a doctor called Dr Nanci Pitman (or PIttman). Real pain in the ass to deal with her, she is a know it all and a little condescending. BUT VERY AGRESSIVE… we were on 30mg of prevacid when matthew was maybe 2 months old and quickly went from reg formula to neocate and we were also hospitalised the moment Matthew stopped eating (1st time)…. Why don´t you try calling her office???

I know that the Cornell team that Tracy is using is great, or so i have heard. BUt i have also heard that they are not as agressive as the Mt Sinai one. The head person there is a woman called Sokolowe or something like that. You may also want to call her. The receptionist there is really nice… you may want to talk about reflux adn seizures and ask if they ahve heard about Sandifer´s maybe to see the knowledge they have?

That is all i know if you want to try and call those offices… def Pitman is agressive, very.

she went to Cincinatti Children’s Hospital to see Dr. Putnam…she traveled all the way from Utah…
