InactiveI need some suggestions on what to try for Adriana next. I had to start from scratch with her solids because the 5 day trial for each food was not enough time to see a reflux flare or intolerance so then I got all confused on which foods were bothering her and which weren’t.
I started a two week trial now!!
Right now she eats oatmeal, carrots, and squash.
She cannot tolerate banana, sweet potato, apple, and pears. And she didn’t like peas.
Should I try meat or keep introducing vegetables first? And what about finger foods, should I try anything like toast or pasta?
Her weight is fine, so thats not an issue. I just feel like she needs variety.
First time mom here!!!

InactiveAvacado? Normal Potato? Green Beans (also great finger foods).
I was doing finger foods around then- Cheerios, toast with avacado, sultanas. I would leave meats to last if you are already finding some intolerances.

InactiveIf you’re worried about intolerances, but want to try a fun finger food, I’d go for rice pasta. It’s a little easier to eat than wheat pasta and avoids the possiblity of a wheat allergy/intolerance. Alex loves it! We like the Tinkyada and DeBole’s brands.

KeymasterI wait until 9 months for proteins- beans, meats, poulry, egg yolk, yogurt
you could make some of your own squash- bake it or steam it- & give little chunks for her to try- there are a lot of variety of squash- Ari likes zuccini, yellow squash (also known as summer squash?) and well just about any squash, lol
At that age, I cut the yellow squash & zuccini into circles, put them in a dish w/ some water & microwave it for just one minute (maybe you’ll need to do it longer?) then I put the circle on his thumb
(thumb going through like a ring)so he could eat it, LOL

InactiveHow about peaches? Looks like she could use a fruit since she can’t tolerate apples/pears/bananas.

InactiveAll good suggestions.. maybe try actual peas instead of the baby food puree. Ben LOVES them. Takes him five thousand years to eat them, but they are just the right size to pick up. Just make sure they are well cooked.
I just wondered what makes you say that she can’t tolerate those foods? I’ve always wondered about Ben’s reactions myself. What kind of reactions did Adriana have?

InactiveI actually make all of her baby food, she dosen’t really like jarred baby food
As far as intolerances: sometimes her reflux will flare and she will stop eating and get that bad breath, she cannot rest with some foods and just tosses and turns and moans all night, and she gets really cranky. I also noticed small amounts of mucos in her stools for pears. I never had the diarrea, vomiting reactions. her butt gets a little red too.
Everyone, thanks for the suggestions. She tried some steamed carrots pieces today, she still has a way to go with the finger foods.
Laura, thanks for the squash tip, I could try a farmers market because it is hard for me to find organic squash (she only eats organic).

InactiveWith Carson, some of his problems were allergies/intolerances but several of the foods he couldn’t tolerate were bulky foods. He didn’t get rashes with them but just the GI problems and our specialist said that bulky foods are difficult for these LO to digest (apples, bananas, pears, oatmeal) so I stuck to veges and rice for a long time with Carson.
