I tried reading the post’s on the zantac dosing but its greek to me..mg/kg ect…my son is 14 pounds and they prescribed .7 ml 2x a day. does this sound right?

14lbs divded by 2.2 to get kilos

so he’s 6.4 kilos

zantac dose is from 5mg per kilo at the low end & 10mgs per kilo at the high end

so 6.4 x 5 = 32mgs a day total of zantc, at the low end

32 divided by 15 (zantac is 15mgs per ml) = 2.3mls total of zantac for an entire day (24hr period)

divided into 2 doses it would be 1.15mls twice a day

so your baby’s dose definitely has room to increase!

thank you soooo much…ive never been good at math. so if i gave him 1.15 that would still be on the low side, right? thanks in advance.

if you were to give the dose of 1.15mls two times a day, that would be at 5mgs per kilo, so at the low end of ped GI dosing (high end of ‘regualr’ pediatrician dosing)
