InactiveHas anyone found that a bottle of water between feedings can help reduce acid? My friend suggested this and I am a little leary. It would seem to make sense that it may reduce acidity, but it also puts more liquid in the belly to spit up?
Also had anyone seen any improvement or worsening with a sippy cup vs a bottle for the gas bubbles. I have tried every bottle made and none really seem to make a difference. I think that Ty would do pretty well with a sippy cup so I would like to start to introduce

InactiveI knew I had another question. Suggestions for what kind of seat to feed bottle in. I am currently feeding him in a papasan (Infant seat)which he will soon outgrow. High chair previuosly seemed to squish his belly a little but I haven’t tried it is a while. Just thought that I would get suggestions.

Keymasterwater just fills them up- empty calories- I don’t know why eveyone tells us to give our infants water- how old is your baby?
I introduced sippy at 6 months- that’s different- not infant- water is good for them later

I’m a firm believer in high chair- but that’s if htere’s no problems…

InactiveTyler is 5 1/2 months. Thanks for the info.
Did anyone experience any improvement or worsening of spit up or gas bubbles with the intro of sippy or straw cup?

InactiveWe did have a rough time with increased spit up in the beginning, but I think it was largely due to the fact that I couldn’t figure out how to thicken formula in a sippy. However, she loves sippy cups now and gave the bottle up early–started around 8 months and was totally off of it by 10.5–because she prefers the sippy (I didn’t try to wean her, she did it herself).
We used to feed in a bouncy seat and then moved to the high chair when she was sitting up well on her own.

InactiveWe started giving Kaelyn water in a bottle with her prevacid (probably around 3 or 4 months). She was a huge spitter, but the water never seemed to make that any worse. Around 6 months, we introduced the sippy and she drank water from that. She still loves water and drinks it all of the time!
I always held her to give her a bottle (until she could hold it herself). For solids, we did the bouncy seat at first and moved fairly quickly to the high chair.
