InactiveOh boy…what are we supposed to do now? I’m so tired of this!!! I’m just going to switch to Playtex nurser once & for all, and end my guilt over this!!! Dagney’s only going to be on bottles a month or 2 more anyway…
I’ve had a small lingering guilt over using the Dr Browns for a while, but when that story came out a few months ago, I thought just buying new bottles would do it, but now i noticed some scratching on the new ones, so I’m just switching altogether! I can’t handle the guilt anymore, what if I hurt my baby just from my lazyness?!?! Now what are they going to tell me, her Elmo toys are going to hurt her? Oh wait, they already told us that!!

What is wrong with Elmo?August 19, 2007 at 10:10 pm #41412Anonymous
InactiveDidn’t mean to cause any additional panic!! There are some Elmo toys in that recall, but thankfully we didn’t have any of them!

InactiveLOL, Christine! You crack me up.
I went through a panic when I read the article about this a while back. It stinks. But since I’m already a worry wart and my derranged psyche can’t handle anymore hysteria on a daily basis, I decided to take the calmer approach about it. The initial source article indicated that the bisphenol only leaches when the item has been heated at very high temperatures for extended periods of time, or when it’s damaged and scratched. We decided to switch to safer plastics for whatever we could, replace plastics and bottles every so often, handwash whatever we could at a more moderate temperature, get rid of our scratchy bottle brush, and try not to think about it much beyond that.It really is frustrating. For me, the MASSIVE fisher price recall was just too much. (Did you all see part 2 of the recall?)August 20, 2007 at 9:57 am #41423Anonymous
InactiveNot to add to the chaos, but here’s the second toy recall for those of you who haven’t seen it already (and it’s a long list!!):

InactiveGRR! These toy recalls!!!! I just found another Dora toy that Taylor has been sucking on all day that was recalled due to lead paint!!!! I thought it was safe since it was given to her Christmas 2006! I just checked the serial number and it was also recalled!

Inactiveyeah, it seems that whatever we give our children, is detrimental to their health one way or another. What will they tell us next?
