InactiveHave not been able to check this board much — maybe a couple of times, and for short periods, so i am sure i missed a ton of stuff. I am going to try and go through it in the following days but forgive me if i miss something!
Matthew is doing wonderful. His speech has picked up quite a bit, although it is all spanish and nobody here can understand him. We are getting ready to start with his therapies again. Early Intervention has been wonderful and he will be starting preschool in the afternoons (it is going to be difficult with nap time at the beginning) but it is a special ed class that focusses on children with speech disorders… there will be 7 of them and there will be a special ed teacher and an aide and then an OT and SLP will be there too to provide his therapies during the class… we are excited! We also found a private speech therapist that focuses on oral motor to see if we can advance of feeding skills. He will be seeing her 1x a week to start. We have not used Matthew;s tube in what… maybe 8 months now!! He is drinking his milk and eating his food nicely. All pureed but he is asking for specific foods at times, so we believe the worst is now over!I am 29 weeks pregnant and getting tired… prob will deliver at the end of October, another boy (I think you guys knew?). Have a full plan with the GI to take care of this little one from day one… so hopefully if there are any GI problems, we will catch them on time.I will try to catch up with some posts in the next few days!!August 29, 2007 at 2:23 pm #41873Anonymous
InactiveWelcome back Thais!

I’ve been thinking about you, wondering how you and Matthew have been. Thanks for the update! I’m so glad to hear that Matthew is doing so well – and WOW, 8 months without using the tube! That’s wonderful. I can’t wait for that day with Bryce. That’s also great that you’ve found a good preschool for Matthew. It sounds like you have a good plan of action for him with therapies. I hope your pregnancy continues to go smoothly. Good luck with everything!

InactiveWelcome back! I’m glad things are going well for you! Alexis is in the same type of pre-school that Matthew is going to go to due to speech problems. She loves it! She has only been in school now for 4 days and her speech has really improved, she came home yesterday day 3 of school singing her ABC song, for the most part she got almost all the letters correct!
