My 3 month old is on prevacid,& I am wondering if anyone knows of any possible side-affects there might be. He is having skin problems,& I’m wondering if it may be related to the meds.

could it be his formula? have you switched it lately?

or it could be the aspertame in the solutabs

some even say it’s the lactose in the solutabs, but no one really

knows for sure as many are fine with the solutabs…

have you changed detergent or anything like that?

What’s his poop like? Is ther any mucous in it? I’m wondering if he’s MSPI (milk/soy protein intolerant) i.e. allergies.

… oh yeah, also, I think I read that you were giving formula and breast milk. Could it be something in your diet?

The only side effects that I have heard of are gas and abdominal cramping which usually goes away after a week or so b/c of the lactose and aspartame…. I would look at what both Laura and Lori said re formula, diet and detergent.

If he’s having issues with his skin I’d be more suspicious of eczema than I would of the solutabs, although anything’s possible. I haven’t heard any moms report skin problems with Prevacid on this site yet.
