InactiveI swear Cooper doesn’t realize that he can’t climb on me like he tries to climb on everything else. I can deal with it during the day as long as I am alert, but my biggest issues is in the middle of the night. Last night when we were having our 2am bottle (I”ll be so glad when that is done with) at the end I go to put him on my shoulder to burp him and let the climbing begin. He isn’t even really awake, eyes closed, but yet he tries to climb over my shoulder and when I am half asleep, I almost drop him… it is very frustrating as I try to keep myself somewhat asleep during his feeding as well so that I can go back to sleep easier, but I am so scared he is going to jump out of my arms…. He is just so strong… Thanks for letting me vent.

Keymasterari does this, too- when he starts to do this I either try to sit down & give him one more chance, then back to the crib he goes- I figure he can’t be THAT starving if he’s climbing everywhere…

InactiveLOL!!! I still feel like a junglegym! Only now she prefers to JUMP on me instead of crawling everywhere. I never had the “wonderful baby” who just lays there and cuddles with you. She was constantly moving, squirming, and trying to climb all over me. I know how you feel!

InactiveSame here! Landen has never been a cuddly snuggly baby! He climbs or jumps. He is very good at standing and bearing his weight too, so sometimes he’ll decide to hold onto my shoulder (while knawing on my shirt) stand up and jump (like Amy described) sooo not funny in the middle of the night and like Laura said, back to the crib he goes. He must think it’s playtime or someting.

InactiveOh yeah…Ariella climbs, crawls, jumps all over me. Sometimes it worries me b/c I’m afraid that she’s doing some damage to the baby. *sigh*

I was worried about Landen when he was in my belly too, b/c I got PG with him when Kaden was 17 mos old and he was SO rough at that age, he’d plow into me. I was reminded by several people that the baby is protected by so much water and stuff. It always eased my mind, so hopefully I just eased your’s.
BTW- when are you due?jilly782007-09-29 21:48:17

InactiveJill, thank you. I also think that it should be ok but it hurts me sometimes when she slams into me. I’m due on March 26th.

InactiveI know what you mean. You already feel ‘under pressure’ and to have them slam into you…ugh. Landen’s PG was def rough with hauling Kaden around and having him rough-house on me.
I totally sympathize. March babies are so special. Landen was born 3/1.
