I’m so confused. When you get the prilosec compounded into liquid form, what do you use to help your babies take it. With the prilosec/sodium bicarbonate mixture I used apple juice and he seemed to e doing great. But then Dr. Phillips told me not to use an acidic liquid to mix because it’s bad and to use formula.

So now I’m using the Prilosec/caracream version and mixing it with formula and he doesnt’ seem to be doing that great?

any ideas?

we used caracream & just gave it it a syringe…didn’t mix it with anything…

not sure what to tell you? email dr philips?

Uggh, lost my reply.

Don’t mix it with anything acidic or it will degrade the med. If he’ll take it plain, then give it that way. If not, then you can mix it into a bit of formula. I personally wouldn’t add it to a whole bottle b/c if he doesn’t finish the whole thing then you’ll lose some of the med. Also, mix right before feeding. If it sits in the milk for too long it’s not good.

jesse just got put on this the doctor told me it would be better give with nothing but if you have to put no more then an ounce of milk…i have to give him it with milk bc he just spits it up…..ummm how does it take to work bc jesse is throwing up everything he eats
