Can you give Mylanta to a 3 week old infant to give him some relief. We just started the prevacid and I heard that Mylanta works to releive gas and acid discomfort temporarily. Is this true? If so how much do I give him? Does it have to be spaced a certain time from prevacid? And which kind do I give him? Do they make Mylanta for infants?

you can use mylanta cherry supreme (adult kind) for newborns & older;

it has no aluminum.

you cannot overdose;

you will know if you’ve given too much if you see loose stools- if this

happens, just decrease the amount.

you can give in 1ml increments, up to about 5mls over the course of 24hrs-

again, if you see loose stools, just decrease…

you can give with zantac, but I would give it 2 or more hours seperate

from the PPI…

do you have zantac (or axid or pepcid or tagament)? if so, you can give this along w/ the PPI- just make sure you give it 4hrs seperate from the PPI.
