InactiveHow old is he???
How long has this been an issue???Have you talked to a GI abou tthis issue????All these factor in on what to do, sorry…:-(If it has been an issue for a long time I would talk to the GI and see about an X-ray to see if there is an obstruction issue going on.If not you can make sure he is well hydrated and possibly add in some prune or apple juice. If reflux is an issue like you said I’d do Prune juce.Hydration is a big help in making sure the bowels move properly.Other than that you amy just have to se an OTC laxitive to help. Once you get a good bowel regimin going then the poing will go better and you just may see the reflux subside some. You know when the GI tract backs up reflux gets worse, sadly.September 4, 2008 at 1:35 pm #56068Anonymous
InactiveHis intolerances likely have much to do with the constipation. Hopefully, once the bad proteins clear his system, his poops will return to normal. In the meantime… how old is he? Is he eating any solids? If so, add some prunes to his diet. If not, some prune juice is good too. Or even a little plain water.
Oh, and look into possibly using a probiotic. They can help aid digestion too.Bensmama2008-09-04 13:36:00

InactiveAngela,
We use a commercial thickener for our food (“our” being a royal term-thank God the kid doesn’t expect me to thicken my pop tarts)..anywhoo-it makes EVERYTHING thick. Our ped suggested giving 1-2 ounces of apple juice or 1 ounce of prune juice. I think it was Jill on here (could be giving wrong credit-sorry) also suggested pear juice. All of the juices worked, but prune did the trick-holy cow did it do the trick. Just prep yourself for a kid who smells like a little old man when he/she poops! Stinky! -
