How can you tell if it is hunger or comfort eating? My ds curretnly eats 5 jars of stage 2 baby food, 2/3 cup of cereal and 28-32 ounces of formula a day. However, at night he wakes up screaming and is only happy if I pick him up or I feed him however he already eats a ton. At night he generaly take 2 bottles with about 6 ounces each.
can you give him more prevacid in the evening and less in the morning, ie split the dose ‘unevenly?’ I suppose that’d be hard with a solutab, but maybe 1/4 of it in the morning & 3/4 of it in the evening? or do you have zantac to add in in the evening before bed?
My daughter was a comfort feeder too, until I got the correct ppi dose in her. Sometimes I give her zantac at night too, like Laura suggested. I have to follow a strict routine so I don’t mess her up, only feeding her 6 oz. every 3 hours and holding her upright for at least 30 mins after every bottle. Also, is he in a sling with a wedge? That helped with the night time acid attacks as well.
