Hello again. We will definately look into the buffer babies, anything that helps. For the time being, we came up with what I hope is a temporary solution. We place the solutab on his tongue, and then before he can spit it out, we give him a 1/2 oz of water in a bottle to wash it down. My only concern is, the solutab is meant to dissolve in his mouth, is it ok he is swallowing it whole, it should dissolve in his stomach with the water, correct?

my understanding is that you need the capsules NOT the solutabs to work properly with Bufferbabies.

I think that is an ok way to give the SoluTab right now. It dissolves either in the mouth, on the way down or in the stomach. it all goes to the same place! I really do think that is fine. Maybe Beth can chime in (her DH is a pharmacist)

I hope you have better luck with the buffer babies.

It is just fine if he swallows the SoluTab whole. It will dissolve in the stomach and work just as effectively as if it dissolved in his mouth. The quick dissolving action of the tablet is just for ease-of-use and doesn’t actually affect the way the medication works.

Thanks Sheri! I thought my answer was ok, but I wasn’t sure. lol.

So Noah’sDad, if that is the only issue you thought you had the STabs, really, you can stay on them! 🙂

Thank you for the quick responses-we will see how he does with swallowing the solutab for a few weeks before we change anything.
