From our experience with omeprazole suspensions, our pharmacy always told us to expect some separation. The buffer (sodium bicarb) seems to settle at the bottom and the solidifies almost when put in the fridge. Sometimes my husband and I have had to shake it VERY vigorously for almost 15 minutes until our hands were killing to get the whole suspension mixed properly. If it isn’t mixed well then you won’t know how much of the medicine and the buffer are in each dose. Good luck to you. Some people on this site have had better luck with Zegerid, which is also omeprazole, but a fresh dose each time, though I understand there may be coverage issues with the insurance company in some cases. Maybe someone will post more about it. Good luck.
